Nausea from Chemotherapy

From now on there’s one less side-effect from chemo you have to worry about.

Nausea from chemo, known as CINV (Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting) can be expected in up to 90% of patients using today’s most common chemotherapy drugs. Fortunately, relief is at hand—quite literally.

Thanks to a special wrist band clinically proven to relieve the queasiness and nausea associated with chemotherapy, millions of chemo patients can now approach the battle against their cancerous cells free from the dread of knowing they’ll feel sick as a result of it. Worn on either wrist, these “BioBands” as they’re known, are extremely effective at short circuiting the nausea from chemo caused by the brain’s response to what it considers to be a toxic substance being injected into the body. Relief from CINV is usually experienced in as little as ten minutes.

The BioBand was developed by Dr. Robert Giarrantano, a Board Certified Ob-Gyn who invented the device to alleviate morning sickness in pregnant women. The fact that it also turns out to be amazingly effective for nausea from chemo is great news for anyone currently undergoing, or facing the prospect of, a chemo regimen.

Here’s how it works. Each BioBand has a small “bead” sewn into it that exerts continual but gentle pressure on a special part of the wrist known as the P-6 acupressure point. This is no “New Age” solution—it’s fully grounded in science and has proven to work in no fewer than 26 clinical studies. There are no drugs, no side effects, you can wear it as long as you want, and it’s inexpensive. All you need to do is :

  1. Place the adjustable BioBand on either wrist

  2. Make sure the “bump” on the wristband is centered on the underside of your wrist directly on the P-6 acupressure point. (Locating this point is easy: it’s three fingers in width from the first crease in your wrist)

  3. With your free hand, tighten the strap until the band is snug but still comfortable.

  4. Secure the BioBand by pressing down on the adhesive square.

Nausea from chemo dissipates all by itself so you can proceed with your life instead of being sidelined by CINV. If you want more information on BioBands and how they work to help nausea from Chemo contact us today!
